Edge Conference and other less important stuff. haha
Hey all! I'm fufilling my job to try and keep this blog alive by posting up some interesting stuff! :) Firstly, the coolest church in town (which is my church) Victory Family Centre (not Center .. haha). is having our first ever city-wide YOUTH conference at the end of this year!!! It's is going to be great with a load of fun! We would have workshops in the day, and night Rallies which will be FREE ADMISSION! If you are keen to go, let me know. PLease.. before you leave this blog at least click on the banner above for more information or visit the very cool website www.edgeconference.com.sg.
:) Life for me has been great as usual (Do i always say this?) haha. Been having holidays so I've been trying to catch up with my rest. But i;ve been slightly busy with a Project that i have to do, and a few ministry stuff. Also busy catching up with different ppl (Which is Awesome!!) :) School mates, Church Mates, Track mates. Still have loads of ppl to catch up with and 2 weeks left before schools starts! Yikes! can't believe the hols past sooo super fast.
My schedule has just come out! Does not look that bad, don't have any days where i don't have school. One slightly irritating fact is that Tue I have school from 4-6pm! How depressing is that!? :( Oh wells. I will survive! One more semester and I will be done with Poly Life and on towards more exciting stuff!!!!!!! :))
To find out more abou the exciting stuff, come back next time to check it out. I suggest waiting about 2 months before the next post. LOL

Thought I post this Video here too! This song is all about God's Love... Great song. Click that BUTTON! :)
By Your Side - Tenth Avenue North Why are you striving these days Why are you trying to earn grace Why are you crying Let me lift up your face Just don't turn away
Why are you looking for love Why are you still searching as if I'm not enough To where will you go child Tell me where will you run To where will you run
And I'll be by your side Wherever you fall In the dead of night Whenever you call And please don't fight These hands that are holding you My hands are holding you
Look at these hands and my side They swallowed the grave on that night When I drank the world's sin So I could carry you in And give you life I want to give you life
(Chorus 2x)
Cause I, I love you I want you to know That I, I love you I'll never let you go
Through thick and thin, it's your love that carries me... from the beginning right to the very end. I love you Lord.

Relief
I guess you know what time this is. (if you noticed, i usually blog after every exam is over)... Yes, the time has arrived. It is esther's "Exam is Over", "Year 2 is over", "The beginning of more freee ejoyable time" DAY! Oh my.. I have been waiting for this day since the beginning of this Semester, can you believe that? And finally, all the craziness and hectic schedules has hopefully given way to a bit of a more relaxing time for me. It really has been a while since i last took a loon break, and I just thank God for it. :)
Some things i want to do during the hols:
Catch up and chill with friends whom i havne't seen it quite a while
Apply for my driving liscense?? Hopefully.. haha
Sell my piano
Make my Brother's B'day present
Give my grandad Computer lessons
Get a haircut - which i desperately need with this crazy, thick, wavy hair. Haha
Beg for money?? haha. Well, more practically get a job which lasts about 1 - 2 weeks
Pack my horridly, messy room.
Get some rest.
Pray.
etc etc etc
Still lotsa things - but it's so much better than being in a Semester. Well well, 2nd year has gone, now it's the 3rd year (my last year). I wonder what God wants me to do after that. Really seeking Him about it now because I know the time to make a crucial decision is coming soon.
Other random thoughts: I realised there have been so many many changes in my life this past year. In me, my surroundings, the way i perceieve things, etc. The exciting things that are ahead are also countless and many! But one thing is for sure, and one thing I will hope to cling on to till my last breath will be to trust in His word that never changes.
limmy, out.
To grow in the grace and knowledge of my Lord Jesus Christ.

The time is 2.25pm on my computer clock. Let's see how fast I can finish this post. In actual fact, I should be attempting to do 3 papers due on 29th December, but I just got distracted. Here goes...
If I am not wrong, I can count the no. of Posts I have this year on 1 hand. Haha. Gosh, it really has been quite a while since i last posted... again.. as usual. It's all because of my super busy Semester, and the amount of stuff and responsibilities that I have to do. It's quite crazy really, I was just mentioning to my mother the other day that I have never felt so busy in my whole life.
Anyways, before I carry on the rants, I want to wish Everybody out there A BLESSED CHRISTMAS! Wo hoo! In a way, the world is in the celebration mood all because 2000+ years ago, Jesus was born, and it's because of Him, I am where I am today, Alive and Made whole. Joyful not because of the circumstances or because of who I am, but because of what he's done in Me. The impact of his Birth is amazzzzzzing!!!!
A few updates: Just came back from a youth camp from 8th-11th December. (Youth camp was great this year! God was reminding us of our purpose of TAke our City and generation, and letting us know that we are here for such a time as this! I feel as though God is moving the youth group from one level to another, and I am excited about the work he will be doing through us in the years to come.)
Just came back from a Long Awaited Family Holiday from 13th December - 22nd Dec. We went to Shanghai for 5 nights and HK for 4 nights. So it was quite an experience to see 2 major Asian cities in a period of 10 days, and how our Asian counterparts live their lives. I know I'm a bit biased, and my stay in Shanghai and HK might have been a bit to short to come to such a conclusion but I have to say Singapore is still my Favourite Country to live in. haha.
But a few takes on Shanghai - it's a RApidly (and i mean really rapidly) developing city. I think it's like China's CBD, except BIGGER and Rapidly Growing. Haha. But I also found it a city of huge differences. For example, I was on a street where there was a Huge, Pretty, Expensive shopping mall on one side, and A few shop houses (where Poverty can still be seen) and old people playing a reform game of Mahjong on the other side. I met people who offered Great Service, and also people who were pretty impatient. Oh ya, and I got to experience toilets without doors!! Amazing man... Thankfully i Chose the last cubicle where no one saw nothing. After that experience, the next day my mother wanted to go to the toilet, and she asked around the street if there was any "hao" toilet, and the man laughed and said there is no such thing as hao" toilet's around that area.
A few takes on HK - It's a busy country. I could feel it everywher i went. In the Mrts, in the shopping centres. Everyone moved at a fast paced, the MTR's (MRT's - as known in Spore) where very frequent but always crowded. The restaurants I went to were like Chinese fast food joints where they order your food the momment you seat, serve you really fast, and you find yourself out of the place in no time! Everything there is "fast fast''. heh. But i got to see some really senic sights of HK, like at Ocean Park, and at the Peak! Also got to experience a bit of the night life with all the colour and noise, and lastly, I got to experience the crowd in HK. To sum it all up, it was quite an experience. Haha.
So well, the time is now 2:49pm. I think i really need to get back to my studies, getting a bit nervous at the rate i'm going about accomplishing my work. Well, it's great to be back, might post the pics on face book, and maybe some here... and I will most prob blog once more b4 this year is over just to sum it all up.
God bless, Esther.
I look to that day where my whole life revolves 360 around yours. With your grace, I'm working to it.

What comes after Goal?
Hey! Welcome back to my blog. Just yesterday, I became quite free from academic stuff at roughly 4pm, Singapore time! Woots. 1 sem is over, and i am half way through Poly Life. I don't know whether to be happy or sad, but one thing I can say (which i always say on my blog), Time Passes Uber Fast!!!
Anyways, i had a great time yesterday cos i went out with Nicole and Marilyn, my two besties in Secondary school and had a fun time catching up at Hans, Thomson Plaza. Also had Ritz apple struddle for desert. So it was a great end to my semester. :)
Another great end to my semester was to know that God was with me, helping along the way throughout, and I have survived a very BUSy Sem with his Grace. Thank you Jesus!
Today, i spent my mornings just lazing around, enjoying the simple things in life, crawling out late from bed, taking my time to bite into my breakfast, catching up on the news etc. After lunch, spent some time praying, and reading the bible and hearing the Fuel (http://www.theedge.org,sg/) . Haha. Then spent the rest of my afternoon printing out Calenders, trying to plan my Holdiay! This hol will be quite a busy one, but i know it will be a great! :)
Just thought I will write out a newspaper reflection on one of the articles i read today. (haha, doesn't newspaper reflection sound so familiar to secondary school life?). I found it really interesting, and for those who wanna read up on it, it can be found on Life page C8, 19th August 2008.
The article is named "What comes after gold?", and it talks about Gold winners in the olypics reaching their "ultimate" goal in life, sacrificing and giving it all that they have got, their childhood, other dreams, love, family time, and then feeling a sense of loss because all that they were living for is over. Just to quote an example,
"New york - Decathlete Bruce Jenner (above) crossed the finish line in the 1,500m final in the 1976 Montreal Olympics, arms flying above his head, knowing he had won the gold, and that he had set a world record. He just did not know what he was doing for dinner.
'I had no plans, nothing,' said Jenner in a telephone interview last Saturday.
A friend lent him the use of a luxury suite in Montreal that night with sweeping views of the city where he had just been immortalised.
"So there I was in this amazing suite... and I'm looking around and the place had a grand piano, and i thought, maybe i should learn to play the piano. I mean, I was extremely satisfied but also devastated by the finality of it all.' "
According to Dr Ungerlied, many olympians having serious problems post-Olypics as "this was the only life they knew and it was inconceivable to do anything else". He wrote in his study that was published in 1997.
Over the past few days, I kindda admired the mdal winners at the olympics, taking to note the amount of hard work they had put in to get to where they were, and wondering whetehr I could be in their position if I was given the right opportunity. (maybe the next Michale Phelps. haha) . But after reading this article, I realised that the few seconds of glory and the circluar piece made up of goal was still not the best thing to sacrifice your "whole life" for. This brought me to the bible verse:
1 Corinthians 9: 24 - 26
24. Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize?
Run in such a way as to get the prize.
25. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.
They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
26. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly;
I do not fight like a man beating the air.
I guess this verse just says it all.
Well, one thing is for sure, tht this race (the christian race) that we are running for has a prize that will lasts forever. Don't give up all my brothers and sisters in christ. We will def not be disappointed when we reach the finish line togeter!

Long time no POSt ar...
Haha. Had a sudden urge to use singlish for my Post title.
Dying!!! DYING!!! MYblog is dying again!! Aiii. I think it will be a while before anyone sees this post because i haven't been posting since March!! As usual, when i don't post means that I have been busy either Studying, or recuperating my energy from the amount of "hardwork" i have been putting in.
A bit of Updates. God has been so good to my Family and I, blessing us in so many WAYS!! Above and beyond all that i can ever imagine or dream... He has become more real in my life even as I seek him. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, his mercies never come to an end. They are NEW every MORNING. I am going to try my best to run the Race with God by my side, and try my best to guard my heart.
This semester has been really busy for me. There is an increase in the workload and activities both in church and at school. Sometimes i do feel as though I am exhausted. Haha. For those who know me well, there are times when I like to feel sorry for myself, and after doing so, I will feel even worse! Even more tired. So i'm really tryin to change my perspective towards the busyness in my life. It is hard, but i'm tyring.
Today, is another long dad. School from 9am-1pm, but i have a meeting from 6pm-8pm so there goes my whole day in school!!! :)
I will try my best to update my blog again. I found the time today because I have a lot of waiting time and my lappy next to me. Gtg!
God bless,
limmy, out.
Ps. I was forced to write the following comment. It has truely nothing to do with me. "ESTHER LOVES VALERIE! (:" Haha. xP

Happy Birthday Brother of Mine, David Lim Yong Chern. 16 Already!!!!!! Thanks for being such a great Brother. Will not change you for another. :)
The time has been passing by so fast! I only have less than 1 month left b4 i start school all over again! It has been crazy!
I just came back from Thailand for a Humanitarian trip and a bit of shopping last Monday, 10th March. It was quite fun seeing the children and touching their lives in a small way. The shopping part and hanging around with Val, LYdia and the rest of the gang was great too! But it is great to be back here in Home Sweet Home Singapore.
Last week i caught up with some of my friends from Secondary School!!! I miss them so much!! It was so refreshing and exciting seeing their faces and finding out what has been going on in their lives. Ahhhhh... I miss them. Haha. I met up with Marilyn, and the Track gals on Tues! Spent the whole Wet Tuesday at Compass Point from 2.30pm - 8.00pm. Amazing huh? I got a good fill of Compass Air, Hersheys Pie with Meh and Nic at Bk, and Beef rice with Track Gals at Yoshi. Haha. I found out that they are still the same crazy ppl.
Then on Thurs went out with Yi Lin, Ming Hui and Joselyn at Hougang Mall for Lunch at Macs. They are still the same too! And it was so fun chatting with them and just seeing them and getting to hear about how they were. It just made my day! We even took photos with Yi Lin's camera and washed them on the day itself (It was almost as fun as Neoprints, but Cheaper!) Haha.
Love you girls! Thanks Nic, Kel and Yi Lin for organising the Outings! :)
Updates: Relief Job has been going on quite fine. Thank God for the many openings he has given me. Hehe. Thank God for the Good results for Sem 2! All Glory goes to him.
I guess that is about all i have for today. God bless, there is someone out there who loves you and cares for you. His name is Jesus.
limmy, out.
My hearts desire, is to know you more
Take me deeper, than ever before
Deeper in your presence, Deeper in your Love.
My Hearts Desire is to know you more
Jesus, My Saviour, the one that I adore.
I want to know you more.
